Sun shades and canopies - to protect instruments, enclosures, switches |
|
Shades can provide a high degree of protection to field equipment at very low cost. They can shield instrumentation from excess temperature rises that might cause a drift in measurement accuracy (and impact reliability), as well as rain, snow, dust and accidental impact.
Shades can provide all the environmental protection required for some applications. In other cases, they can reduce the cost of the cooling systems needed inside protective enclosures. INTERTEC provides two families (SD and Diashade) in a large choice of sizes - allowing users to install the optimum shade for any application. A smaller canopy (SD17) suitable for protecting open-air switches and controls is also available.
SD22
A small canopy with a bracket that allows it to attach directly onto the body of a transmitter (brackets for different instrument manufacturers available). KD183

DIASHADE
Diagonally sloping sides protect equipment from sun and UV radiation while leaving excellent access to the instrument - to read displays, actuate valves, etc. A choice of sizes provides solutions for single to triple transmitter installations. KD285, KD287

|
SD series
This family offers a choice of many sizes, with options that are ideal for shading instrument enclosures, to minimize absorbed heat. Brackets available for mounting on pipe stands, etc. KD183

Switch canopy
The SD17 simple canopy, fabricated from tough GRP, provides protection for open-air emergency-stop switches and other controls in processing plants. It protects against rain/snow, condensation and dust, as well as accidental impact. INTERTEC designed it at the request of a German refinery, which experienced a costly shutdown after a piece of falling scaffolding activated an emergency shut-off button. KD831
