INTERTEC has developed a huge range of fabrication options and accessories to optimize the performance of shelters and enclosures in different climatic conditions and make the safe installation of instruments easy and effective. Here are a few of the major options available:

Installation options |
| Antistatic protection Any INTERTEC enclosure, cabinet or shelter can be specified in antistatic form for use in hazardous areas, to meet the European IEC 60079 standard. The basic GRP fabrication material is treated with a conductive powder to ensure that any potential will dissipate. |
Windows: single or double glazed windows (US) can be fitted as desired, to suit the installed equipment and allow inspection without opening the enclosure/cabinet and disturbing the heat regulation process.

Fire protection
INTERTEC uses only fire retardant GRP (having so-called 'self extinguishing' properties) that limits flame spread. By employing sandwich constructions of GRP around cores of mineral wool or other materials, fire resistances of up to 120 minutes can be achieved. See fire protection. |
Underground vaults:
larger-size cabinets can be fitted with GRP vaults below the ground.

Arctic Insulation
GRP is itself is a heat insulating material. A polypropylene liner is fitted as standard. For extreme climates, an aluminium sheet liner can optionally be fitted to reflect heat.

Insulated entry/exit:
For cold climates or applications where temperature regulation is critical, INTERTEC offers ISOPASS (US) mouldings made of hard polyurethane foam, which is easily adapted for the particular size of impulse lines. A stronger GRP version is available for handling tube bundles.
Special grommets also available for sealing standard tube/pipe applications.
Heat tracing and tube bundles are also available, plus shrink sleeves.
